How MLG can help

Create a clearer connection to home.

MLG can discuss a terrace or deck around how you move from the house, the levels of the garden and the space you want for furniture and planting.

  • Work through levels and access
  • Allow space for furniture and circulation
  • Consider the edges and adjoining surfaces

The terrace & dining garden

A natural extension of home.

Think about the connection to the house, the views into the garden and how the space will be used. The surface, structure and edges should feel like they belong together.

01

Find its purpose

Outdoor dining, a sheltered corner or a broad terrace: start with how you want the space to feel and function.

02

Explore the options

Discuss the appearance, feel and upkeep of the decking and structure options suitable for the project.

03

Consider the connections

Levels, steps, boundaries and the transition to lawn or paving all contribute to a useful finished space.

Clarity before commitment

The details shape the project.

A deck is more than its boards. The supporting work, level changes, edges and any pergola all affect the scope. Discuss these together to understand the complete proposal.

A straightforward starting point

You do not need to choose every detail first.

Choosing a finish can feel like a big decision when you will live with it every day. Bring a photo and a few ideas about how you would use the space. Discuss appearance, upkeep and what is included before choosing.

Before you begin

Your
questions.

Can decking be a standalone project?

Yes. A deck or pergola can be an individual improvement or one part of a wider garden project.

Which decking material should I choose?

Start with the look, feel and level of maintenance you want. Discuss the available options and their suitability for the intended use before choosing.

Can you add lighting or power?

Mention it at the start so the scope and any specialist electrical work can be discussed. It should not be assumed to be included in a decking or pergola quotation.

Will I receive aftercare advice?

Ask about the care requirements of the selected materials when the scope is agreed, so you understand how to look after the finished space.
